David vs Goliath

As the mist of my hangover starts to rise I am gradually being drip fed memories of what exactly we had achieved last night. Since our shock nomination we have worked hard to rally the people of Bramhall and the wider area to get behind us and cast a vote. I didn't think that we would win and furthermore by a landslide at that. Up against us were some very big hitters from the Manchester pub scene. I was sure newcomer, The Pilcrow, would clinch it. Myself and Dan were looking forward to a night out and we felt that we had achieved so much just by being in the running. As the different categories were announced the excitement started to build.

Then came our turn and we couldn't believe it when our name was read out. We hadn't prepared any words so we just stood there in total shock. Emily Heward the what's on reporter for the MEN gave us an insight into the Votes. We had creamed the opposition by 500 votes.

It's only reflecting upon it now that I realise the contribution that so many people have made to this astonishing feat. From individual votes from our customers too many to mention through to support from CAMRA, I love Bramhall, local councillors, Woodford Cricket club, local business's, our suppliers and anybody else who has helped towards our success. We thank you all! Hopefully we can do our bit to help put Bramhall on the map as it truly is a wonderful place to be part of.
